About Sisters in Sobriety

Too often when women go to recover and stay in a treatment center or sober living facility they are separated from their children and tend to rush through programs because of the desire and longing to be with their children. They often leave early and too many relapse, sink deeper into this disease, or die as a result of not taking care of themselves and getting the solid foundation that they need first. Their story doesn’t have to end like that.

Sisters In Sobriety is an organization dedicated to helping these woman. Keeping mother and children together and cared for while they concentrate on getting better and conquering their addiction without fear of loosing their children.

Our sober houses will employ volunteers to assist in the seemingly unimportant and often forgotten daily chores allowing these woman to care for their children and learn or expand on the skill sets that will empower them to re-enter the work force with the knowledge and confidence to secure jobs, obtain housing and flourish so that they may be able to support their children and their families on their own, pay taxes, and do the next right things that will eventually lead to them being the great citizens of this beautiful country that we are so blessed to live in.

Sisters In Sobriety offers them a safe place to rebuild their lives on a solid foundation for the future. Counselors and other professional volunteers will be available to give the woman that backbone they will need to do just that. Local businesses and organizations such as Dress for Success and Whole Foods will also be partnered with to help assist in the education and offer supplies and support to help build that solid foundation.

With additional funding we will also be providing the woman with personal laptops and support programs that they can take with them once their own housing is secured. Giving them the extra tools to stay in practice and abreast of the tools needed in the modern workforce.

The need for our services is great within the community. Other local established houses must turn away people in need due to volume and lack of space to care for the woman and children.

We believe in our hearts that these woman and children can be helped and build the solid foundation needed. With help from the community and your charitable donation we will ensure that these woman get the love, support, and assistance they need to keep their families and spirits together for the rest of their lives.
